Edge Cases & Warnings

One-at-a-timeBulk cancel or end is not supported.
Manual creditsTo compensate a live ad set, issue a manual credit note.
Wallet notesCredit/debit notes cannot be deleted once created.
Broker dependenciesYou can’t pause or resume if the ad set has unresolved broker actions.
Expiration after pauseA paused ad set that isn’t resumed before its scheduled end date will auto-expire and trigger a “stop” broker action.

Pro Tips / Best Practice

  • Delete vs Cancel:
If an ad set is still in Draft, use Delete instead of cancelling. It’s faster and keeps records tidy.
  • Partial credits for ended sets:
To compensate an advertiser for a live ad set you ended, issue a manual credit note through your finance workflow.
  • Bulk actions:
Not yet supported — repeat steps per ad set.
  • Permissions quick-check:
Missing the refund option? You likely lack the Refunds Manager permission.
  • Undo not possible:
Once cancelled or ended, an ad set is in a terminal state. Clone it if you need to relaunch.
  • UI filtering:
Use filters to isolate Paused, Cancelled, or Ended ad sets for quick review.
  • Pause-aware scheduling:
Pausing does not extend the scheduled end date — important for short campaigns.
