The Strategic Benefits of Sponsored Products and Always-On Campaigns


Placing a Sponsored Product Ad or a Web Banner Ad using keyword search enables Suppliers to promote their products on the Retailer’s website when end users are searching for specific keywords. This functionality allows Suppliers to get in front of high-intent consumers when they're looking for a specific item on the Retailer's site.

When placing an order for a Sponsored Product or Web Banner ad, Suppliers will be able to bid specific keywords so that when users are searching for that keyword, their ad will appear.

Suppliers can add positive or negative keywords to their targeting, and determine whether search terms will be an exact or broad match.

When two Suppliers bid on the same keywords with different amounts, the ad will be served based on which Supplier placed the highest bid. If both Suppliers have the same budget with the same keywords, the Ad will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. Ads are sorted based on their approval time.

Placing ads based on keyword search

Depending on the monetization type, there are two possible outcomes when two or more Suppliers are looking to book the same Space during the same time period:

 The ad will appear in a carousel format alternating through the ads with the ad first purchased appearing first. If you would like to set which ad appears first you can apply weighting to each ad. Learn more about weighting 

 The highest bidder will be prioritized and will be served as a priority.

Please note that if the slot is already occupied, a warning message will appear. This is a "soft" warning but won't prevent users from creating or approving the order.

When multiple Suppliers seek the same Space simultaneously, the ad will display in a carousel for FIXED monetization, or prioritize the highest bidder for BIDDING, with a warning shown if the slot is already occupied.

A 'Sponsored Product' is an ad format that allows Suppliers to showcase and promote specific products on the Retailer's Website. Whether it's on the search results page or in a set category, Sponsored Product ads allow Suppliers to reach high-intent consumers at the point of purchase. Sponsored Products can be placed within the product grid, banners, etc.

A set, or Product Set in Facebook, is a group of items in your catalog that you can feature in ads.

A Catalog is a container in which the products or item information is held.

What's the difference between a Facebook Product Catalog and a Facebook Product Set?

Zitcha provides a Product Update Endpoint that allows retailers to push their product catalog information to Zitcha's product feed. This guide will walk you through the steps to use the endpoint to update and add products to the Zitcha product feed.

Before you start using the Product Update Endpoint, ensure you have the following:

An API key or authentication credentials to access the Zitcha API.

The necessary libraries or tools to make HTTP requests to the API (e.g., Python with the

To update or add a product to the Zitcha product feed, you need to send a POST request to the Product Update Endpoint with the relevant product information.

The response will likely contain an HTTP status code, such as 200 for a successful request, 400 for a bad request, or 500 for server errors. Additionally, the response may include a JSON payload with more detailed information about the request's outcome.

Whether you're part of a new organization using Zitcha, or you're already collaborating, to connect your Facebook Catalog to our Zitcha Business Manager, please follow these steps:

Select the catalog you want to share from the catalog list.

Select “Assign Partner by Business ID”

In the field “Enter Partner ID”, input 

Make sure that the “Manage Catalogs” options are toggled on.

Once shared, please contact your Customer Success Manager, or reach out to our friendly support team via support@zitcha.com.

Follow these steps to connect your Facebook Catalog to Zitcha Business Manager by assigning the catalog with the provided Partner ID and contacting support if needed.

How to Share Facebook Catalogues with Zitcha?

Ensure your product catalog stands out on Facebook and Instagram by adhering to the following specifications for images and videos. This guide will help you optimise your content for Meta’s advertising platforms, ensuring your products are showcased effectively.

These specifications are consistent with 

image feed requirements documented by Meta

 Each product must have at least one image.

 Acceptable formats include JPEG or PNG, with a maximum size of 8 MB.

 Images must accurately represent the product being sold.

 Refrain from including offensive content, such as nudity or violence.

 There is a limit of 20 product images per product.

Provide an assortment of images to display different angles and details of the product.

The primary image should be clear, showcasing the entire product.

Opt for a white background and refrain from overlaying text or promotional material.

 There are no strict length requirements, but shorter videos tend to be more impactful.

This includes, but is not limited to, formats such as 3g2, 3gp, mp4, mov, avi, and mkv.

 Focus on creating brief, engaging videos that quickly communicate your message.

 Ensure your brand is prominently featured within the initial seconds.

 Centre the video around the product to capture and retain viewer interest, encouraging conversions.

 Employ high-quality visuals with clear product demonstrations and attractive transitions.

Video campaigns with 1 SKU (no static images)

MPA campaigns promoting 1 SKU will run as a Single image or Video ad format.

MPA campaigns promoting multiple SKUs will run in a Carousel format.

A combination of images and video assets can be used however the first card in the Carousel will always display as an image. 

In the previews provided, assets will be displayed in square format.
